Frequently Asked Questions


Is the Library open? Yes, UAHT Library is open on the Hope campus: Mon – Thurs from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., closed on Saturday & Sunday.

Face masks that cover the nose and mouth are required by all visitors when in the Library/campus buildings and when within 6 feet of other people outside.

Online Access

Can I access the databases from off campus? Yes. Login & password info are on your course syllabi. All of UAHT Library’s databases are available at Databases A to Z. Here’s access to several of the Library’s most used databases:

Library Borrowing Questions

How can I renew my items? You may renew Library items by bringing them to the Library, calling 870.722.8250, or by email. Please type RENEWAL in the Subject Line and provide your name, UAHT ID number, book/DVD titles, and a working phone number.

How can I return my borrowed materials when the Library is closed? You may return Library items in the large Black Box outside the Library’s front door. Please fill out one of the forms under the Box’s lid (student ID number is required), place the form and Library item(s) in one of the plastic bags and drop the bag into the Black Box.

InterLibrary Loan

Can I still request Interlibrary Loan? Due to COVID-19, some libraries are no longer participating in ILL. UAHT Library will make ILL requests but cannot guarantee that requests will be filled. Please, call Mrs. Shelia Jackson at 870.722.8252 for assistance with ILL.

Faculty Questions

Are Library Orientations still available for classes? Yes, Library Orientations can be provided in one of DL’s computer labs, the class’s regular classroom or for nine (9) students at a time in the Library’s computer lab.

Focused Research Assistance: Library Staff is available to help students individually with their research assignments by phone or email and with face-to-face assistance.

Safety Precautions

For health and safety reasons, all visitors to the Library must wear a mask that covers their nose and mouth, stay 6 feet apart and only used designated seating.

Library staff are following state and university public health guidelines, including social distancing, wearing masks, frequent hand-washing, sanitizing and disinfecting work spaces, machinery and books, and self-monitoring for symptoms.

Staff will clean computers and workstations after they are used.

Library books that are checked out and returned will be held for 36 hours before we disinfect them.

Should I clean or disinfect library materials after I check them out or before I return them? No. Please don’t clean or disinfect library materials. Library staff disinfects items according to currently recommended practices after they are returned.
